Military Benefits

Are you a service member or a vet preparing for life after the military, or a military family member looking for a career you can take base to base? Meet people like you who’ve completed our program—and find out why they chose Setting the Standard Barbering Academy as well as what resources are available to you. There’s a wealth of resources and support available for military, vets and families. Here are some of them:

GI Bill®

VA administers a variety of benefits and services that provide financial and other forms of assistance to service members, veterans, their dependents, and survivors.

If you served on active duty, you might be eligible for education benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. For example, the Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides Financial support for educational and housing expenses to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.

If you are the spouse or child of a service member, you may be eligible for transfer of the service member’s Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits to you.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government website at http://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.

MYCAA (My Career Advancement Account)

MyCAA (My Career Advancement Account) Scholarship Program is a workforce development program that provides financial assistance to eligible military spouses who are pursuing licenses, certificates, certifications or associate degrees necessary to gain employment in high-demand, high-growth portable career fields and occupations.

VA (Veterans Affairs)

VA administers a variety of benefits and services that provide financial and other forms of assistance to service members, veterans, their dependents and survivors.

If you are currently serving in the military, you may be eligible for funding offered through the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance program. Check your eligibility status and the amount for which you qualify with your Service prior to enrolling.

If you are the spouse or child of a service member who is serving on active-duty Title 10 orders in the paygrades of E1-E5, O1-O2, or W1-W2, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the Department of Defense for education, training, and/or the occupational license and credentials necessary for a portable career.

Veteran Readiness and Employment
Learn about eligibility requirements for Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E)—formerly called Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment. If you’re a service member or Veteran and have a disability that was caused—or made worse—by your active-duty service and that limits your ability to work or prevents you from working, you may be able to get employment support or services to help you live as independently as possible.
